Framing a partition wall looks like the most forgiving carpentry in the house — it's not holding up a roof, and a stud that's an eighth of an inch off rarely matters the way it would in a load-bearing wall. Where a partition punishes sequence is at the one place it isn't just studs: the door. 4. Close the wall once framing is inspected and confirmed

What goes wrong when the wall gets closed before the opening is confirmed
Hang drywall around a door opening that hasn't been checked against the actual unit's rough opening spec, and any correction needed at that point means cutting drywall back out around the opening in addition to reframing it — a repair that touches two trades instead of one.
